 Hello My Friends!

It's been a minute or two since I made a post here on my Blog - I'm not sure if there is still anyone interested in what I have to say here, but I truly have missed this space - so I'm back!

Gosh - how can I ever catch up?

Guess I will just start typing and see where it takes me.

The last couple of years have been a challenge for both Gary and myself.  Mostly medical stuff - but we are both trying to get back to a healthy position in life.  Having said that - it sure is most difficult as we get older.

I just turned 71 years old - and boy oh boy - can I feel it!  My body seems to want to work against me - but you know I am a fighter - I'm giving it all I have.

I broke my shoulder in a stupid little fall 2 years ago - bad as the break was, what was really worse was the confidence I lost in my ability to do things.

Things as simple as going for a walk.  Until that fall I had been confidently walking close to 4 miles a day around the perimeter of our beautiful little town.  That stopped.

All the things I loved to do - play the piano, knit, crochet, type, garden - everything became too difficult and painful - so I stopped doing a lot of those activities.

Time does heal, my shoulder got better, I started moving and doing again - but I never resumed my walks - until this week.

Now it's the legs that are causing me grief - and walking is making me miserable - but I'm not going to stop this time.  It might take me months to get back up to 4 miles a day - but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Creativity!

Now there's something that hasn't gone away.  My old brain is constantly working on new ideas, new designs, and I have been working on some pretty interesting things.

Stitching has remained one of my most enjoyable activities and I have so many projects on the go that I can't show them all to you on this post - but I will show you the one that is really making me happy.

This is a little scroll I am working on.  It started out as just a simple fabric collage scroll, but my eco- printed fabric had other ideas.   Oh yeah - I'm doing that as well... but that's for another post.

Back to the scroll.

I have three little scene's started on what I call my Woodland Scroll. The first is a Woodland, the second a Robin in her nest, and the third is Grampa's Marsh.

I have a whole playlist on my Youtube channel Erndales, featuring this scroll.  Pop over and have a look if you are interested.

                                                                        The Woodland.

There is still stitching to be done on all these pieces, but I am already planning the next piece that will be added to the scroll.

Well, think that enough for this post.

I hope you are all keeping well -

I will be back soon with some more about what I've been doing - but also about what is ahead!

Take Care...

Dale
