CHECKING IN!

How's your summer going?  Can it really be so close to the end of July?

I have been busy, as well you can imagine.  Since the last time I posted over a month ago, I have cleaned up all that portulaca that appeared overnight in the vegetable garden... well almost all of it, and I'm happy to report the garden is growing beautifully now.  We have had just the right amount of heat, sun and rain that has me thinking that it might be an outstanding year for produce from my vegetable garden.
Check it out...

Corn, beets, 3 kinds of beans

Corn

Tomatoes

Romaine
Not pictured, onions, lettuce, strawberries, carrots, potatoes and cucumbers... and 1 zucchini plant!

It doesn't come without a lot of sweat and toil, however.  You'd think with all the work I have been doing everyday in the yard, that I'd have shed a few pounds by now, but that hasn't happened.

But other good things have happened since I was last here.

Canada turned 150 yrs old - I had a another negative mammogram - I said my final goodbye to my Dad -  I saw my youngest brother for the first time in 2 years  - I visited the museum here in town for the first time ever -  I got to catch up with my two best friends (separate visits, but oh so special) -  I saw my Son (first time since Christmas).

Pretty awesome list of special moments indeed, and hopefully the rest of the summer will bring many more such special moments.

Yesterday I picked my fist ice cream pail full of beans, so from here forward, I will be canning and freezing as produce becomes available in the garden.

I have also rented a table for the local craft sale in November - so I am trying to gather my ideas and supplies with the intention of getting an early start on some items for sale.

But it's still summer and for at least another month, I want to spend as much time outdoors as I possibly can.

I will try to check in again soon - but if not - you know what I will be up to...

Stay healthy everyone...

Talk to you soon -

HEALTH CRUNCH BREAD!

A few weeks ago, I made a new bread recipe, I recorded a video on it as well, which I will link below if you are interested in watching it...
